MURAL CALENDAR A RESOUNDING SUCCESS
Islington’s 2010 Mural Calendar basically flew off the shelves of local businesses; they are well on the way to becoming collector’s items. If you missed out, check with one of the following calendar sponsors: Beauty Supply Outlet, the Christian Science Reading Room, Chameleon and Papillon Esthetics, Fox and Fiddle Precinct, Heritage Etobicoke Foundation, Lewis, Macanowicz & Associates, the Cooperators, Noble Grape Wines, Pejman's Salon & Spa, Tapestry, the Art of Seniors Living, Trade Winds Travel or Village Paint. ABOUT TORONTO'S 'VILLAGE OF MURALS' The Village of Islington is located on Dundas St. West between Islington and Kipling. It is a great place to go 'Walkabout', take fabulous photos, or just generally 'Get Inspired' by the area's larger-than-life, exceptional-quality murals. If you come between June and October, you might even discover the street theatre of a mural painting in progress. For more information, check out the following tabs on the left sidebar: Islington Mosaic Murals, New 2009 Murals, and the Photo Gallery. 'PAINT THE STREET!' - SATURDAY JUNE 5TH Each year, as a launch to the mural painting season, the village hosts a festival called "Paint the Street!" The event is always held the first Saturday in June. For highlights of last year's event, click on the button below.
